Description

Product Description: Intel® Xeon® Gold 5317

The Intel Xeon Gold 5317 is a 3rd generation server processor from the Xeon Scalable family (codenamed Ice Lake-SP), designed for business-class tasks, virtualization, server workloads, cloud platforms, and storage systems.

The processor has 12 physical cores and 24 threads, providing ample power for multi-threaded tasks: virtual machines, containers, databases, web services, and heavy computing loads.

The base clock frequency is 3.00 GHzand the maximum (in Turbo Mode) is 3.60 GHz, ensuring good performance under heavy loads and when running frequency-sensitive applications.

The L3 cache size is 18 MB, which helps accelerate memory and data operations, caching, multitasking, and basic workloads.

The processor supports up to 6 TB of DDR4-2933 RAM, uses 8-channel memory controller, is ECC-compatible, making it suitable for servers requiring high reliability and stability.

Socket — FCLGA4189 (LGA4189), supports dual-socket configurations (2S), providing flexibility when building high-end servers or workstations.

Xeon Gold 5317 is a good choice for both new servers and for upgrading existing platforms: balanced in cores, frequency, and memory support, while retaining all key Intel technologies: virtualization, ECC support, scalability, and optimization for server workloads.

⭐ Intel Xeon Gold 5317 Advantages

  • 12 cores / 24 threads — sufficient power for most server workloads.

  • 3.00 GHz (Base) / 3.60 GHz (Turbo) frequency — good performance for both parallel and single-core workloads.

  • 18 MB L3 cache — accelerates data operations, caching, VMs, and databases.

  • Up to 6 TB of DDR4-2933 ECC RAM + 8-channel controller — scalable and reliable memory.

  • Support for dual-socket (2S) configurations — flexibility in server design.

  • Compatible with modern server platforms (LGA4189 socket).

  • Balance between performance and reliability—a good choice for enterprise and cloud solutions.
