The Intel Xeon Gold 5318Y is a powerful and scalable server processor from the Ice Lake-SP (3rd generation Xeon Scalable) family, designed for enterprise servers, virtualization, cloud platforms, databases, containers, and CPU- and memory-intensive workloads.

The processor has 24 physical cores and 48 threadsenables high parallelism—ideal for virtual machines, containers, databases, and multithreaded computing.

The base frequency is 2.10 GHz, while in Turbo mode the CPU can overclock to 3.40 GHz, providing excellent performance in both multi-threaded and clock-sensitive tasks.

The processor has 36 MB of L3 cache, which accelerates memory and data operations, caching, databases, and heavy workloads.

For memory, it supports DDR4-2933 ECC / Registered, with an 8-channel controller and the ability to install large amounts of RAM—important for servers, databases, and virtual environments.

Expansion features: support for 2-socket systems (2S), UPI bus, virtualization and security extensions, making the 5318Y suitable for both small servers and scalable enterprise systems and clusters.
